Schokoladenmuseum
Interactive chocolate museum on the Rhine peninsula. Watch pralines being made, taste chocolate from the famous fountain, and learn the full bean-to-bar journey. A sweet start to any date.

Fischmarkt & Altstadt Lanes
10 min walk. Wander through the colourful Fischmarkt square and narrow Altstadt lanes. The pastel-painted houses along Frankenwerft are impossibly photogenic.

Bei Oma Kleinmann
5 min walk. A Köln institution serving enormous schnitzels (they hang off the plate). Cosy, unpretentious, and packed with locals. The name means 'At Grandma Kleinmann's'.

Päffgen Brauhaus
12 min walk. One of the last Brauhäuser still brewing Kölsch on-site. The beer is unfiltered and exceptional. The wooden barrel tables and no-nonsense Köbes waiters are pure Köln.
